Medication Abortion | The Abortion Pill

A medication abortion, the abortion pill, is two drugs (mifepristone and misoprostol) taken in separate doses 24-48 hours apart. Another name for the abortion pill is a medical or chemical abortion. It is usually taken between 4-6 weeks, but it is FDA-approved up to 10-11 weeks after a woman’s last menstrual period (LMP).

If you are considering a medication abortion or ordering the abortion pill online, contact us to learn more about how it works, risks, recovery time and what options are available to you in and outside Texas.

Aspiration Abortion

An aspiration abortion procedure can be performed up to 13 weeks after a woman’s LMP. It is the most common early surgical abortion method and it is an outpatient procedure.

If you are still in your first trimester, contact us to learn more about how the procedure works and what options are available to you.

Dilation and Evacuation

A D&E abortion is typically performed 13 weeks or more after a woman’s last known period (LMP). It is the most common second-trimester surgical abortion method. Local anesthesia or sedation is commonly utilized. While we do not refer for or provide abortion services, we can give you the answers you need to make an informed choice.
