How to Achieve Your Goals

1) Keep it simple

Don’t make lofty and numerous goals. Think about a few things that you would like to improve on and focus on those. We are not able to focus on many things at once, so it is good to go easy on yourself and keep it simple. Take some time and think about what you want to achieve, and write out a few ideas. Then narrow it down from there and make it specific and concrete.

2) Challenge yourself

You know you are capable of more, so don’t underestimate yourself. Give yourself a bit of a challenge. If you challenge yourself and believe in yourself, you will rise to the occasion and you will be surprised at what you accomplish! As Winnie the Pooh once said, “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

3) Keep track of your progress
Have an accountability partner, keep a journal, write reminders in your planner, or come up with some sort of method to track your progress. You need people and practical methods of keeping you on track so that your goals end up being more than just nice ideas written down on scraps of paper. One of the main reasons why New Year’s resolutions don’t last for a lot of people is because they are out of sight and out of mind. One of the classic and most effective methods is to write sticky notes on your mirror! If there’s one thing we never forget to check in the morning, let’s be honest, it’s that darn piece of glass!
